I have WAC habits. I find comfort in my Saturday booth by the window in Torchy's. I enjoy morning chats at the "beauty bar" in the 7th Floor women's locker room. I know just the right lemon-to-ice-to-water ratio for my post-workout refreshment. Routines have merit. They make daily stresses manageable and form the fabric of our lives. But they can also get us stuck—and as we all know, getting unstuck can be hard work! I recently found myself stuck in a less-than-healthy eating routine. It was time for action! Seeking a nutrition and weight-loss tune-up, I started meeting with WAC Nutritionist Eric Chen. Eric joined us last fall and is off to a fast start. He's serious about his work. He's also patient, encouraging and compassionate. I wholeheartedly endorse him. With two lessons under my belt as of this writing, I have a basic whole-foods eating plan dialed in and, wow, do I feel better already! My current challenge is to incorporate more red, purple and blue fruit and vegetables into my meals. With any luck, and a bit of hard work, I hope to soon forget my old eating habits. Lucky for us, the WAC is full of healthy and delicious dining options built around fresh ingredients from local growers and producers. The Club's offerings have evolved impressively under Vice President Food & Beverage Peter Christian, and I commend him and his entire team in the kitchens, restaurants, and Catering department. If you haven't dined at the Club recently, please do. I'm confident you'll find the food, the service, and the venues engaging and worthy of recommending to others. Who knows, maybe your next WAC habit will find you with your own favorite booth at Torchy's or visiting Eric Chen's office in the Wellness Center. As this is my final letter as Chairman of the Board of Governors, I also would like to take a moment to say thank you to the WAC leadership and to all of the members who have made this year so wonderful. I look forward to the years ahead and to the 2016–2017 leadership of incoming Chairman Paul Ravetta. Make sure to find out more about Paul in the September/October issue of WAC Magazine. Thank you! The hard work of new habits
