It was this combination of community and athletics that sold Nathan Bowling on the WAC, reshaping how he and wife Erica look at fitness. "We had gotten bored with our routines, and we fell in love with the variety of classes the WAC has," Nathan says. He joined in December 2014 and promptly started sponsoring others into the Club. Professionally, Nathan works as a customer success manager for Simply Measured, a Seattle-based social media analytics company. "I love that I get to work with really innovative technology and smart people," he says. Erica, meanwhile, owns Two Birds Events, an event-planning company that focuses on weddings and corporate gatherings. "Erica and I are both creative entrepreneurs at heart," Nathan says. Nathan assists behind the scenes with Two Birds and does occasional freelance design and photography work. "We're always on the go!" Nathan says. "It's part of the appeal of the WAC—it gives us a welcome break from the craziness." The couple tries to work out together on the 4th Floor and hopes to start a family. "Kids are definitely in our future," Nathan says. "Erica and I envision always having fitness in our lives, and we see the WAC as a place our children can develop lifelong skills while experiencing situations advantageous to their social, mental and physical health." 16 | Washington Athletic Club Magazine | JULY / AUGUST 2016 They also grow the Club and ensure our continued status as one of the nation's premier city athletic clubs.
