They are arguably the most important event in sports. Since their start
in 1896, the modern Olympic Games have hosted some of the greatest
moments—and some of the worst tragedies—in sporting history. This
summer, the Games of the XXXI Olympiad take place August 5–21 in Rio
de Janeiro. As the world prepares to once again come together in the
name of sports, we catch up with three members who have experienced
the excitement of Olympic competition firsthand.
