This four-week series will introduce kids to exercise and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. It's offered twice per week and is intended for ages 10–14. For more information, contact whicks@wac.net Saturday Morning Junior Basketball with Watts Basketball April 30–June 11 WAC kids have the opportunity to start learning the game of basketball from Husky legend and former professional basketball player Donald Watts. Come out and learn basketball fundamentals and basic rules of the game—and have fun! Level 5: Swimming all four race strokes (crawl stroke, backstroke, breast stroke, and butterfly) 13–25 yards, refining coordination. Fundamental understanding of stroke mechanics. Level 6: Swimming all four race strokes (crawl stroke, backstroke, breast stroke, and butterfly) 25–50 yards with refined technique. Developed understanding of stroke mechanics, turns, and dives. Foundations Approaching Swim Team (FAST) : This class focuses on building endurance, refining the four primary strokes, and introducing starts and turns. SIGN-UPS ONGOING Private Swim Lessons (All ages) Private swim lessons are available to members of all ages and swimming abilities. Summer swim team offers two ways for kids to keep moving with pool and open water workouts June–August. Pool workouts begin the week of June 6. Open water workouts begin the week of June 27. Mondays and Wednesdays : 4:30–5:30 pm at the WAC pool; ages 6-plus Tuesdays and Thursdays : 4:30–5:30 pm at Madison Park Beach; ages 11-plus with coach's permission $55 per month/$45 for siblings; contact Jennifer Mesler at jmesler@wac.net Family Judo The martial art of judo is a special form of wrestling that emphasizes throws and grappling. Traditions, discipline, respect, and mental training are a few of its benefits. Channel that excess energy into a great skill. Ages 7+ Wednesdays: 6:30–8:30 pm Saturdays: 9:30–11:30 am Parents welcome. Adults $8 per class, $6 with enrolled child or free with Fitness Experienced hoopsters will receive more advanced tools for quicker, stronger and smarter play. Cost: $140 for seven weeks, $25 drop-in. Ages 5–9 (9–10 am): For beginners. Learn the fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, passing and teamwork. Ages 9–13 (10–11 am): For players who have learned the fundamentals and are ready to incorporate them into game situations.
