This summer's annual restaurant closures are set. • Hagerty's will close June 25–July 5. • Torchy's will close July 3–12. Need a bite? The 8th Floor Sports Café will remain open. Few things get the WAC kitchen team as fired up as Barbecue Month, which takes over Torchy's and Hagerty's every May. Last year's international theme drew such great reviews, we're doing it again. WAC Executive Chef Eric Floyd scoured the globe—and narrowly escaped a spicy altercation with a Jamaican jerk sandwich— to find new dishes that showcase the endless potential of grilled meat. Eric, we salute you! This month, enjoy flavors from around the world as you dine on the smoky richness and enjoy the candy lacquers that only come from slow-cooked meats. Korean kalbi rib tacos? Check! Yakitori steak and chicken skewers with Chinese broccoli? Check again! And how about that always-dangerous Jamaican jerk sandwich? You bet! You'll also see barbecued tandoori salmon, a unique Indian and Pacific Northwest fusion, and lamb sirloin inspired by the Greek isles. "These dishes are going to amaze people," Eric said during a rare break from the kitchen. "But don't worry, we're bringing back the caramel honey ribs, too." Those perennial favorites are Eric's signature barbecue dish and, according to eyewitnesses, can disappear in the blink of an eye. BBQ season! If you think you can only barbecue outside, think again.
