Be ready to sample a variety of tropical fruits, Asian herbs, vegetables, pastries, dim sum, barbecue, tea, and more from some of the best chefs in Seattle. The focus is on the hidden treasures of the International District and Chinatown. Our tour will include stops at Lam's Seafood Market, Saigon Bakery, Jade Garden Restaurant, Gourmet Noodle Bowls, Thanh Son Tofu, and a sit-down lunch at Huong Binh Restaurant. Our tour guide will also offer quick tips on cooking different Asian vegetables and a short primer on Vietnamese cuisine. Come hungry, bring doggy bags, and wear comfortable shoes. The walking tour will cover a couple miles in three hours. 10:30 am–1:30 pm; $65; cancel by May 22 Health Sciences and UW Medicine Simulation Lab Tour Friday, July 10 Join us for an informative visit to the University of Washington Health Sciences and Medical Center and experience a firsthand introduction to medical training in a simulation lab. The tour begins with a 30-minute video overview of the six health science schools: medicine, nursing, dentistry, public health, pharmacy, and social work. Then visit the Institute for Simulation and Interprofessional Studies for an overview of the role simulations serve in medical education, followed by a tour of the facility. In the simulation lab, learn how doctors are trained using lifelike dummies and try your hand on a simulation of your own. Meet there. Lunch not included. 10:30 am–12 pm; $10; cancel by July 6 8th Annual Scavenger Hunt on Lake Union Friday, July 24 The hunt begins by selecting the captain of your 10-person electric Duffy boat before making way into heated (but friendly) competition afloat. As you race around Lake Union, you'll work as a team to solve a list of clues and riddles to determine the identity of items visible from the lake. You social in Hagerty's for appetizers and a cocktail. Then we will walk to Safeco Field, where Lookout Landing will be reserved for our group. We'll enjoy a burger and hot dog buffet, salads and snacks, dessert, and two beer tickets per person. Enter Taylor Hoang, a longtime businesswoman and owner of and a night of laughter with this comedy legend.
