A BLACK-TIE AFFAIR Indeed, Jubilee stands apart in a city where formal occasions often seem a thing of the past and blue jeans in the office raise scarcely an eyebrow. The black-tie party also provides a needed diversion from our often- hurried lives. Just ask attorneys Patrick Reddy and Tim Emery. The business partners enjoyed their first Jubilee so much that they have since used it as a way to give back to clients. "Our group of friends and clients can take over a single blackjack table and play for hours," Patrick says. "Jubilee is the one night of the year we can experience what is essentially the core of the Club." However you describe it, the party offers something for everyone and spills far beyond its established hours and venues. Just ask Frank Yon and Rose Mitchell. The parents of two young kids, Frank and Rose join many members in turning Jubilee into an overnight affair. They book a room at the Inn at the WAC and visit the Spa at the WAC for relaxing treatments and beauty sessions before the party, where they volunteer in the Jubilee casino. "It's simply a great night out at the Club," Franks says. Like many through the years, Frank and Rose have come to realize how great the casino is for making new acquaintances. "Working as a dealer is the best way to meet people at Jubilee," Rose says. "I highly recommend it." It's also a perfect place to enjoy some of the party's sights and sounds, from the rolling of dice to the clinking of champagne glasses to the laughter of friends new and old. All the while, members and guests find themselves surrounded by decked-out holiday trees, bright red poinsettias, and thousands of sparkling lights.
