Written by Quin Nelson | Photography by Luke Rutan COME TOGETHER AT THE WAC { M E M B E R T O M E M B E R } { BRIAN ARNOLD } Member since March 2007 FAMILY & FRIENDS W hen Brian Arnold and his family moved to town from Manhattan seven years ago, they were excited about the pace of life in Seattle. In New York, they lived in a small apartment and never felt able to escape the city's hectic pace of life. In Seattle, the Arnolds moved into a condo a few blocks from the WAC. Seeing the Club as a great opportunity to make friends, they joined right away. Brian works in the construction and import-export business and describes the Club as a great place for hosting business contacts. He also hits the gym a few times a week, socializes in Hagerty's, uses the Voogd Library for work, hosts meetings in WAC restaurants, and sponsors out-of-town guests for overnight stays at the Inn at the WAC. He says he always knows his clients will be treated well. When it's his turn to travel, Brian takes advantage of the WAC's reciprocal club network. He and his wife, Jennifer, an executive at Nordstrom, frequently stay at reciprocal clubs while on business trips. Back in Seattle, they enjoy bringing their sons, 5-year-old Andrew and 9-year-old Alden, to the 8th Floor to shoot hoops and run around the track. Recently, Brian took his enthusiasm for the WAC a step further by serving on the Membership & Marketing Committee and sponsoring friend Paul Fleming as a new Club member. 14 | Washington Athletic Club Magazine | NOVEMBER / DECEMBER 2014
