Members who complete 10,000 kettlebell swings between November 1 and December 31 will receive a kettlebell T-shirt. Sign up in Coed Fitness on the 4th Floor. $15; participants who complete 10,000 swings will receive a T-shirt Ski Conditioning November 12, 19, 26 & December 3, 10, 17 Prepare your body for ski season with WAC personal trainer Darrick Kung. Pre-Pigout Workout Thursday, November 28 (Thanksgiving Day) Burn a ton of calories, so you can enjoy your turkey and trimmings guilt-free. Join us for this early morning holiday workout, the perfect way to start Turkey Day. Includes boot camp, Zumba, cycling, yoga and more. 8:15–10:30 am; $8 members, $10 guests. American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course December 16–19 This course will teach swimmers ages 15 and up to be effective lifeguards. Upon proper completion, participants will receive lifeguard, first aid, CPR, and automated external defibrillator certification for the professional rescuer. Prerequisites: Must be able to swim 300 yards nonstop using a combination of front crawl and breaststroke. Must be able to swim 20 yards to retrieve a 10-pound brick from the bottom of the pool and swim 20 yards back with the brick in 100 seconds. Register by December 11. Monday–Friday: 5–9:30 pm; 6th Floor Pool; $240 members, $260 guests (all materials included). Call Aquatics Supervisor Jennifer Mesler at 206.464.3086 for more information and to sign up. Class must have five participants and limited to eight. American Red Cross Lifeguard Review Course December 21 Open to anyone who has a current certificate that expires December 31. Upon proper completion, participants will receive renewed lifeguard, first aid, CPR, and automated external defibrillator certification for the professional rescuer.
