Journey beneath Pioneer Square's city streets into the forgotten tunnels and abandoned storefronts of a town buried long ago. Guides will pull back the curtain on Seattle's gritty Prohibition-era secrets, revealing tales of opium dens, illicit speakeasies, notorious brothels, and high-stakes gambling that once thrived. SEPTEMBER Cinema Club: The Way SEPTEMBER 3 Join the Cinema Club for an inspiring and poignant journey with The Way, directed by Emilio Estevez. This powerful film stars Martin Sheen as Tom, an American doctor who travels to Europe after his estranged son dies while walking the Camino de Santiago. Driven by grief and a desire to understand his son, Tom embarks on the historic pilgrimage himself, encountering an eclectic group of fellow travelers and discovering profound connections. Explorer's Circle: A Trip to France SEPTEMBER 11 Join fellow travelers at Explorer's Circle, a new Affinity Group where adventurers unite for a no-host beverage social! In September, prepare to be transported to Europe as WAC member Parvez Anandam reviews his unforgettable trip to France. He'll share stunning slides and insights from his travels. Hop to It: Central Washington Beer Adventure SEPTEMBER 13 Join fellow 20s/30s WAC members for a day trip to the heart of hop country! Travel in style via motorcoach to Central Washington and get an insider look at the hop farms that power the craft beer world. Fun fact: More than 70 percent of the nation's hop crop is grown in Washington state. Ballet for Ages 5–7 SEPTEMBER 11–NOVEMBER 13 This 10-week ballet series teaches 5- to 7-year-olds strength, flexibility, balance, alignment, and artistry. It's the perfect opportunity to learn ballet basics, develop creativity, exercise expression, and work with others in a welcoming environment. Class is limited to 12 participants. Thursdays; $150 per dancer; cancel by September 1 to avoid being charged in full. 50s-plus Member Socials SEPTEMBER 16, OCTOBER 21 Meet your fellow 50-plus members at monthly socials held in Torchy's Bar for no-host cocktails.
