Second Annual WAC Picnic at Gas Works Park AUGUST 10 Pack a picnic, grab a blanket, and head to iconic Gas Works Park for a fun-filled afternoon with fellow WAC members. Nestled on the shore of Lake Union, this historic park offers stunning views of the Seattle skyline, plenty of green space for games, and a unique industrial charm. This event is perfect for WAC members and friends of all ages. Sunday; 12–3 pm; complimentary & no-host. Discover Seattle: Firn Rooftop Bar at Populus AUGUST 12 Discover a new perspective at Firn rooftop bar at Populus in Pioneer Square. Ascend to this stunning summit, where breathtaking vistas meet a thoughtfully designed space. Captivating art sparks inspiration while food, drinks, and mocktails keep the conversation flowing. Tuesday; 5:30–7:30 pm; complimentary & no-host; cancel by August 9. Outdoor Adventure: Lake Union Scavenger Hunt AUGUST 14 Search Lake Union for clues to solve riddles all from the comfort of an electric Duffy boat! The "Clueless in Seattle" on-the-water scavenger hunt is tons of fun and brings out the competitive spirit in everyone. Bring your own beverages and snacks. Thursday; 5:30–7:30 pm; $45 members, $54 guests; cancel by August 6. Rise & Climb: Hike Poo Poo Point AUGUST 16 Looking for a fun and energizing morning hike? Join us for a trip up Poo Poo Point via the Chirico Trail. This short but steep hike with stone steps takes you on a four-mile round-trip with 1,750 feet of elevation gain. It's a steady uphill walk through lush, green forest that rewards you with amazing views over Issaquah and Lake Sammamish. Saturday; 8 am–1 pm; complimentary; cancel by August 13. WAC Walkers: Walk the Washington Park Arboretum AUGUST 17 Experience Seattle's natural beauty with a peaceful stroll through the Washington Park Arboretum. This lush, 230- acre park features a network of trails that wind through wooded areas, wetlands, and along the shores of Lake Washington. As you walk, you'll encounter vibrant plant species, stunning views, and serene surroundings, making it the perfect place to connect with nature. Sunday; 10–11 am; complimentary. 50s-plus Member Social in Belltown AUGUST 19 Meet your fellow 50s-plus WAC members on the third Tuesday of the month for no-host drinks. This is a great way to make new friends, meet new people, and mix and mingle with WAC friends. In August, we're meeting at a member's Belltown condo. Hope to see you there! Sunset Sail AUGUST 20 Set sail on the stunning waters of Elliott Bay aboard a 70-foot custom performance yacht and experience sailing in true Northwest style. Join FareStart's Food Security Team at Oxbow Farm GAS WORKS PARK | AUGUST 10 Trivia on Tap SEPTEMBER 4 OCTOBER 2 NOVEMBER 6 Get ready for Trivia on Tap, a monthly bar trivia night just for WAC members! Hosted by the 20s/30s Committee, it's the perfect excuse to gather your crew, grab a drink, and test your knowledge in a fun, laid-back setting.
