A romp through the Rockies
What to do in Colorado
Home of the Rocky Mountains, the
largest mountain range in North
America, Colorado boasts a varied
landscape whose breathtaking natural
beauty oen transports travelers to the
country's Old West era. Plus, you'll find
the ideal home base for your Centennial
State adventures by way of reciprocal
clubs in Colorado's two most populous
cities—Denver and Colorado Springs.
e state's capital city of Denver is
a great place to kick off any Colorado
itinerary. From Denver, Rocky Mountain
National Park becomes your playground
for cycling, running, skiing, snowshoe-
ing, raing, rock climbing, and much
more. A 90-minute drive via Boulder
leads straight to the park entrance. Back
in the city, you'll find a bustling arts
scene featuring the Denver Art Museum
and the American Museum of Western
Art along with downtown's historic Lar-
imer Square for nightlife and eats. is
fall, you can also catch a Denver Broncos
football game—you probably know the
quarterback—score tickets to see the
reigning NBA Champion Denver Nug-
gets, or watch the Colorado Avalanche.
An hour drive south brings you to
Colorado Springs. e city's Victori-
an architecture displays its history as
a favored destination of 19th century
British immigrants, and its easy access
to Garden of the Gods, a 1,300-acre
National Natural Landmark featuring
awe-inspiring rock formations, will put
you up-close with the elevated beauty of
the Southwest.
Wherever your Colorado Rocky
Mountain High leads, stay awhile with
WAC reciprocal clubs.
