FALL / WINTER 2023 17 first take onewac / morris trophy It's a question we hear oen: Why is the dues structure so varied? Well, we've heard you, and we've listened! Starting December 1, our new "OneWAC" membership will take effect and include full Clubhouse and fitness access. For WAC members with Fitness Advantage, your dues will decrease, particularly if you have more than one Fitness Advantage member on your account. For members without Fitness Advantage, you'll be able to opt into a new OneWAC membership or stay exactly how you are in a new "legacy member" category. So what's the big deal? "We're trying to open the Club up more to all members and really lean into our middle name," WAC Vice President of Business Excellence & Development Suzana Sakay says. "We want to move away from the idea that fitness access is something 'extra' or only for a special group of members." All new Resident members joining the WAC beginning December 1 will be OneWAC members. Family and individual categories will continue. All members with Fitness Advantage will be rolled into the new OneWAC membership category automatically and will begin paying lower dues. Legacy members without Fitness Advantage may keep their membership unchanged and will still be able to access fitness areas by paying a daily fee. Beginning December 1, legacy members who would like to opt into OneWAC may do so by emailing membership@wac.net or calling 206.464.3068. "at legacy category is really specific to longer-term members who wish to use the many areas and offerings of the Club outside of the fitness areas," Suzana says. "e legacy membership will continue, and it will merge with OneWAC over the next few years. It's really about wanting to have all our members fully using and supporting the Club in a way that makes sure our facilities and services remain at the top of the private club world. We think OneWAC really speaks to that." —To learn more, visit wac.net/one-wac. Welcome to OneWAC!
