30 WAC Magazine | wac.net club life Life members Life Members look back on 50 years of membership Every year, the WAC Membership team hosts the Club's newest class of Life Members, those who have belonged to the Club for 50 years. One of the WAC's greatest honors, Life Membership represents the highest commitment to our club and community. With that honor comes a commemorative gi, a coveted gold membership card, and a permanent dues waiver. Late last year, three members of the 2022 Life Membership class gathered with member leaders in the Johnson Lobby Lounge. "ese members walked through those doors 50 years ago," WAC President & CEO Chuck Nelson said, pointing toward the Clubhouse's entrance. "And in 1972, those doors were brand new!" Chuck then gave the floor to newly anointed Life Members Bruce Babbitt, Richard Dewey, and Richard Eitel, who shared advice and some of their fondest memories made during 50 years as WAC members. All new Life Members are invited to attend the annual gathering. WAC LIFE MEMBERS CLASS OF 2022 The WAC was a wonderful place to raise a family. I even remember my daughter's ballet lessons in the Meisnest Room. I have a very fond place in my heart for this club." —Richard Dewey Use your membership! Take your kids to the Father Daughter and Mother Son banquets. Play basketball while you still have the vertical leap. Some of my fondest memories were raising my kids here—and playing squash, of course." —Bruce Babbitt As out-of-towners living in Everett, it was nice having a place we could come to in Seattle and spend time with the people we knew here. My family and I had many dinners here." —Richard Eitel " " "
