Join us for a five-course dinner pairing in the Crystal Ballroom and taste the decades of tradition behind DeLille's award-winning blends. This event focuses on a single winery and is a fantastic prelude to the Taste Washington Winemaker Dinner. TASTING NOTES DeLille Cellars, DeLille D2 Red, 2018 $55 By Peter Christian Named for the famous road that bisects the French Bordeaux region, DeLille Cellars' D2 Red (2018) is a 92-point blend consisting of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The 2018 vintage is two-thirds Merlot and puts the varietal in its best light. It's ready to drink now but will age well for another five to 10 years. Aged in French oak, this vintage delivers chocolaty aromas, impressive structure, and flavors of black fruit with a long finish. DeLille was founded in 1992, and D2 was one of its first wines. Through 30 years of winemak- ing, the blend has delivered a consistent flavor profile and is one of the best ready-to-drink wines at its price point. The 2018 blend is available by the bottle ($55) in Torchy's and Hagerty's. For a full immersion into the DeLille experience, reserve your place at our DeLille Cellars Wine Dinner on Friday, January 27, in the Crystal Ballroom. —Peter Christian is WAC Vice President of Food & Beverage and holds a Level 1 Sommelier Accreditation from the Court of Master Sommeliers.
