"A lot of members never knew the library was there at all." e name 1930 honors the Club's opening year and was chosen from more than 100 ideas submitted during our naming contest this past fall. "at name stood out to us right away," Chuck says. "e WAC has been a Seattle institution for 92 years now and paying homage to the year we opened really speaks to the history and tradition of the Club." e new space made its debut this past December 16, exactly 92 years to the day aer the Club opened. To make room for 1930, the Club Shop moved around the corner from the Member Services desk on the lobby level. e completion of 1930 and the new Club Shop marked the end of Project 51, which began in 2018 with the Barber- shop moving to the 5th Floor. e Washington Athletic Club Foun- dation helped fund the construction of 1930. "is was the Foundation's first major project, and it was a good one," Chuck says. Wayne hopes the addition of 1930 to the WAC's roster of dining and meeting spaces will encourage members to spend even more time at the Club. "e WAC continues to provide quality, comfort- able spaces for members to relax, work remotely, and enjoy their favorite food and beverages," he says. 1930 Hours Open 24 hours a day. Food and beverage service: Monday–Friday, 7 am–7 pm Saturday–Sunday, 8 am–5 pm u Food and beverage service in 1930 will include coffee, beer and wine, and small bites as well as grab-and-go items.
