Everything just feels better. is year it's a tad bittersweet for me, however, because it means that my time as Chairman of the Board of Governors is ending. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve in this role. Jubilee 91 and the New Member Reception were two events that returned in person … and with rousing success! Feeling the energy and atmosphere back in the Club is something I will remember for a very long time. e membership's commit- ment has been outstanding these past two years, and I cannot thank you enough for continuing to make the WAC such a special place. Although we still face endemic and inflationary challenges, I am very confident in our executive leadership team as well as 2022–2023 Chairman Jennifer Porto to continue to forge a new path for the Club in the year ahead. Summer is here, and the best is yet to come! Jason Hamilton Chairman of the Board of Governors jhamilton@wac.net Our theme these days is encouraged. Across depart- ments—the Inn at the WAC, Food & Beverage, Athletics, Membership, WeeWACs, the Garage, the Spa and Barber- shop, and Club Programs—we are seeing steadily increas- ing numbers of members participating in the offerings of the Washington Athletic Club. What gives us the most anticipation is the prospect that there is even more to come—that we are perhaps in a solid stretch of recovery. Uncer- tainty and challenges remain, but we are in the best place we have been in two years: e daily Seattle office population is at its highest since March 2020, some retailers are returning, and growing numbers of people and cars are on the sidewalks and streets. e WAC Foundation, meanwhile, continues to grow and is planning its initial contributions to two WAC projects: the new expansion of the library/lobby drop-in workspace and coffee lounge, and the summertime cleaning of the exterior of our beautiful historic Clubhouse. Imagine all the good the Foundation can do and please consider supporting generously at wac.net/foundation. New member interest in the WAC is wonderfully strong. e Club has welcomed over 400 new members in the past nine months! Invite your nonmember friends to join in the fun! ank you and see you soon. @cnhuskies13 Chuck Nelson President & CEO cnelson@wac.net Values Leadership, Excellence, Integrity, Service & Sensitivity Vision To be the premier city athletic club in America Mission To enrich the quality of life of our members Washington Athletic Club - Dedicated 1930 - Beliefs Statement At the WAC, we believe in our diverse, inclusive community.
