Me either! But Straightaway cocktail company founders Cy Cain and Casey Richwine sure do. e pair's home- cooked libations became so popular with friends a few years back that they had no choice—it was time to go legal. us was born the premade and gorgeously labeled concoctions of Straightaway. If ever there were a cocktail lover's perfect beverage during these late days of a global pandemic, this is it. e company makes seven beautifully bottled cocktails that require nothing but ice. Of course, a few friends with whom to share would be nice! Enter our February irsty ursday event, where WAC members are invited to get up close and personal with Straightaway. In fact, the first two irsty ursdays of the year will continue a three-month focus on liquor. In January, tequila from El Jimador and Herradura come into focus. e triad of liquor-based tasting events began this past December with Empress Gin from Victoria, British Columbia. Our cocktail program has been expanding steadily for the past couple of years—from the launch of the Cocktail Club to various cocktail dinners and now to more tasting events open to all WAC members.
