Or should I say—Good riddance, 2020?! Many of us have been fortunate that the impacts of the pandemic on our personal lives have been more about inconvenience than real problems. I know that is not true for others in our communities, from frontline healthcare providers to restaurant and hospitality workers, from small businesses and essential workers to two-wage-earner families juggling work with remote schooling for their children. And for many of our own WAC team members. My thoughts also go to people everywhere who have suffered directly from COVID-19. But with the New Year there is the promise of effective vaccines and a real line of sight to getting back to a new normal. Of course, we don't exactly know when the public health efforts will make us feel safer, but we know it's coming. And we don't exactly know what new normal means either, but it's bound to be better than what we've experienced in 2020. Management and the WAC Board of Governors are working diligently to prepare the Club, financially and programmatically, to be ready to best serve its members as you return during 2021 to your work and social lives largely unhindered by the fear of pandemic disease. Whatever the new normal turns out to be, we will be ready for you! I'm really looking forward to a WAC where all the facilities are open, the workout areas and sports courts are full, the basketball leagues are playing, and there is energy and laughter in our restaurants—when we can feel comfortable socializing again in groups large and small! One thing that this pandemic has taught us is no matter how connected we can stay through video conferences and social media, there is nothing like being together in person with your friends, family, and business associates. anks so much to our loyal members. I look forward to seeing you at the Club soon. Here's to 2021! Gregg Blodgett Chairman of the Board of Governors gblodgett@wac.net
