This one-of-a-kind outing is being organized by our friend Allesandra Guardino Montgomery, an Italian countess who has set up successful WAC journeys to Italy in the past. Along with the grand ball, you will explore key Italian cities and amazing sights, including Milan, Bologna, Modena, Parma, Ravenna and Rome. Montgomery will take you to her privately owned palace in Umbria and to Tuscanys famous Carnival float parade in Viareggio. She will use all of her local connections to open doors that are seldom seen by tourists. Everywhere you go youll be joined by one of Montgomerys friends, who will make sure our group experiences the best aspects of local culture. Youll dine in the finest restaurants and see great works of art by Leonardo da Vinci, Sandro Botticelli and Michelangelo. WAC Link Quarterly NEW Thursday, March 28 $3,950 per person, sharing double room (land only) NEW Taste of Italy: Cheese & Wine Thursday, March 21 Join us for an evening of discovery into Italys wealth of luxurious cheeses at The Cheese Cellar at Seattle Center. Owners Dennis Nelson and Theresa Simpson will introduce cheese basics, including milk types, textures and flavors. Theyll also discuss the finer points of cheese service. After learning the basics, well enjoy cheese from the abundant meadows of the Piedmont to the sparser plains south of the Tyrrhenian Mountains. Each will be explored for its individuality and uniqueness, including regional attributes. Italian wine samplings paired by Amy Morris, certified sommelier and district manager for Winebow Inc., will enhance the exquisite flavors of pecorini, caprini and formaggi a latte di mucca. Dont worry, youll soon know what those words mean. Event includes cheese, wine tasting and light appetizers. Cheese also available for purchase. Meet at The Cheese Cellar. 5:307 pm; $45; cancel by March 11 wac WAC members agree WAC Link is the place for person-to-person, business-tobusiness, interest-to-interest connections. This quarterly informal mixer is fast-paced and focused on linking you to a roomful of members and the WAC. Its easy, nonthreatening and fun. Heres how it works: PreLink starts at 6 pm and gives everyone a chance to arrive, grab a beverage, enjoy appetizers, and be ready at 6:30 pm for SpeedLink. During SpeedLink youll meet 15 different people in three-minute linkups to talk about whatever you want. Everyone gets the same starter question. You take the conversation from there. After SpeedLink, there is an all-play group activity before last call. Experience WAC Link Quarterly in a different venue each time. The Johnson Lobby Lounge plays host this spring. Join us for an evening of appetizers, socializing and networking. To receive WAC Link updates and reminders, email clubprograms@wac.net and write Link List in the subject line.
