Then, hop over to Elbe for a scenic 30-minute steam train ride to the logging museum in Mineral, home to the most comprehensive col- lection of steam logging loco- motives in the world. Book-It Repertory Theatre's co-artistic directors Jane Jones and Myra Platt are coming to the WAC to discuss what it takes to make novels and short stories into theater. Book-It is dedicated to transforming great literature into great theater and inspiring audiences to read through simple and sensitive produc- tion. Book-It creates world-pre- miere adaptations of classic and contemporary literature for the stage. Today, with over 100 world-premiere adaptations of full-length novels—many of which have garnered rave reviews and gone on to subsequent productions all over the country—Book-It is widely respected for its artistic excellence. u Tuesday; 6–8 pm; $35; cancel by September 12 29 Hot Party 11 Night 1 N Be a glass artist for a night at our 11th annual "hot party" at Seattle Glassblowing Studio. With assistance from the professional glassblowing team, you'll heat a molten blob of glass, dip it in your choice of crushed colored glass, fire it in the 2,000-degree kiln, then blow or work it into the perfect size and shape. Make two items—such as pumpkins, fruit, bowls, ornaments, or paperweights. After cooling a few days, your objets d'art will be available for pickup at the WAC.
