"We were looking for a premier athletic facility but we ended up staying because of the people," says Shoko, a native of Japan who moved to the states in 2004. An avid runner and martial artist, Shoko works out at the Club daily, using the treadmill and attending Beat Box classes. She is also an active member of Women of the WAC (WOW). "WOW surrounds me with other strong and success- ful women," Shoko says. "ey're an incredible and inspiring group." Shoko's enthusiasm for the Club community makes it easy to recruit new members. "We post pictures of events, we tell co-workers, we use the facilities—and people see that." Shoko says. "We live the WAC experience." Kevin Vaughn Kevin Vaughn learned about the WAC as a student at the University of Washington. Since joining in 2001, Kevin has used the WAC as his "home base" in downtown Seattle. As a salesperson for Swiss-owned Sika Corporation, he's also proud to host international colleagues as Inn at the WAC guests. "I know I can rely on the Inn to be a unique and memorable ex- perience for my European colleagues," Kevin says. "e WAC has everything in one place—it's like a cruise ship in the heart of downtown." Kevin also enjoys working out and swimming at the Club with his daughter and twin boys on the weekends. e WAC's family feel keeps him coming back. "It's exclusive but not pretentious," he says. "And the people who work here are amazing.
