John- son—a Seattle-based pho- tographer and mixed media artist—has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, Aperture Foundation in New York, and now at the WAC. Johnson's work focuses on Northwest landscapes, industry, and natural resourc- es. Examples of his studies include photographs of Ore- gon's Matsutake mushroom hunters' camps and seasonal indigenous outposts in Barrow, Alaska. Dr. Smith will discuss what the "new normal" is for our kids, the benefits and drawbacks of nearly constant access to electronic devices, and proactive and practical tools for parenting in this age of technological saturation.
