His leadership, organization, enthu- siasm, and ability to work under pressure have helped him improve the Club's breakfast service. "Bill is without a doubt the best breakfast cook I've ever worked with in all my years in the industry," Vice President Food & Beverage Peter Christian says. "He has the energy of 10 men and is always calm and cool." Bill goes above and beyond for members who have special requests, trains new employees, and makes sure WAC standards are followed. "Bill is a driving force in the 2nd Floor kitchen," Sous Chef Richard Delgado says. "He is a wonderful example of hard work and self-motivation, and he embodies our WAC values." ERIC CHEN WAC NUTRITIONIST Eric oversees the WAC's nutrition services. Since starting in October 2015, Eric has worked to improve the Club's nutrition offerings by initiating new programs targeted to busy members. His approachability, professional ease, and positive attitude make his clients and co-workers immediately comfortable. Eric combines fitness with nutrition and stays up to date on the latest trends in his field. Human Resourc- es Generalist Laurie Sorensen says Eric has taken nutrition at the WAC to "the next level." Eric's co-workers value his engaged and knowledgeable nature, describing him as a good friend and employee. Eric says the greatest pleasure of his job is seeing his clients' joy at making progress toward their nutrition and fitness goals. RICK CARDONA DIRECTOR OF CATERING Since beginning at the WAC in 1999, Rick has held many roles in the Catering department. Now, as Director of Catering, Rick oversees the catering and banquet teams and interacts with all of the Club's food and beverage venues. His position requires quick thinking, endurance, flexibility, consistency, and high standards. "Rick's professionalism and willingness to help out all other departments are inspiring," Restaurant Supervisor Karamia Aho says. Vice President Food & Bever- age Peter Christian says Rick's enthusiasm and commitment to quality service make him an outstanding team member. "He always makes himself available and models a 'can do' attitude that sets us apart from our competitors," Peter says. When he's not at work, Rick loves to spend time outdoors, especially camping. DID YOU KNOW? ✪ Bill was born and raised in Ballard. ✪ He has two sons. ✪ Bill enjoys playing tennis in his spare time. DID YOU KNOW? ✪ Eric is a diehard Golden State Warriors fan. ✪ His fiancée, Leslie, is a first-grade teacher. ✪ Eric has twice complet- ed the North Face 50k Endurance Challenge DID YOU KNOW? ✪ Rick used to manage a ski-in, ski-out condo complex in Beaver Creek, Colorado, where he also taught ski lessons. ✪ Before working at the WAC, Rick organized large-scale conferences at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, California ✪ Rick has played adult softball for 15 years.
