Founded in 1908, the waterside
Waegwoltic Club features 12 tennis
courts, four pools, and a fleet of 42
sailboats. Host of the Nova Scotia Tennis
Open, e Waegwoltic is a family-cen-
tric club located on a small point of the
Northwest Arm, a two-mile inlet off
the Atlantic Ocean. Halifax Stanfield
Airport lies about 30 minutes by car to
the north. WAC members will enjoy the
old clubhouse, picturesque dining room,
sailing lessons, tennis, and swimming.
e Waegwoltic offers a great sum-
mertime destination for lovers of the
outdoors, yet downtown Halifax is a
10-minute drive away.
During your visit, be sure to ride a
Halifax Transit ferry across the harbor,
dine in the beautiful brick restaurants of
Argyle Street, and browse the vendors
at Halifax Seaport Farmers' Market. A
short drive out of the city core will take
you to Peggys Cove, where a picturesque
fishing village and historic lighthouse
will reward you with gorgeous photos
and wide-open views of the North
Atlantic Ocean.
Great times to visit in 2017 include
the 150th Canada Day on July 1. e
international Tall Ships fleet will drop
anchor in Halifax from July 29–August
1, and the Halifax Seaport Beerfest will
quench your thirst August 11–12.
e Waegwoltic Club is one of our
newest reciprocal clubs and our first
in Nova Scotia.
