N E W Bassem Youssef: The Joke Is Mightier Than the Sword at The Moore Theatre Thursday, January 26 Bassem Youssef, dubbed "The Jon Stewart of Egypt," was a practicing heart surgeon when he became the creator and host of the popular political satire show Al-Bernameg. Originating as a five-minute YouTube show shot from Youssef's laundry room while protests in Tahrir Square unseated Egypt's ruling elite, Al-Bernameg evolved into a TV broadcast with 30 Silver & Soul: Seattle Men's Chorus Holiday Concert at Benaroya Hall Sunday, December 4 The Seattle Men's Chorus holiday concert shimmers with the sounds of beloved carols and shakes with a fresh and soulful celebration of the season. All the ingredients are here for Seattle's biggest holiday extravaganza. Start with 250 joyful voices singing favorites like "Sleigh Ride" and "O Come, All Ye Faithful." Add a tender David Bowie tribute, mix in a clever karaoke singalong, heat things up with gospel harmonies, and top it off with a disco Santa finale.
