For me, this is the time of year when the WAC really shines. The first thing I notice is that the changing weather recharges the energy in the athletic facilities as members return from their summer activities. I look forward to the annual reunion with those who have been away. It's always a pleasure to catch up, hear about vacations, and make plans to connect more over a glass of wine. For me, nothing says fall more than football. Whenever I stop by Hagerty's on a Saturday or Sunday, I enjoy the crowds cheering their favorite team. As our region continues to see new arrivals from all parts of the country, it's great to see new and different team colors around the Club. But have no fear, there are still plenty of Huskies, Cougars, and "12s" present. If you're planning a pregame gathering or looking for somewhere to watch the games, Hagerty's is the place! Soon, a Mercedes-Benz will miraculously appear in the lobby. The car's arrival means it's time for the Club's premier party of the year—Jubilee. Stacey and I still talk about the first time we attended Jubilee. We were blown away by how the Club was transformed. Even after attending for 10-plus years, we are still amazed by the event. We always plan on plenty of amazing food, great entertainment, and a jovial atmosphere—but we never know what new twists will be added. And, of course, the holiday season frequently includes celebrating with co-work- ers, clients, and other business contacts. I look forward to walking guests through the beautifully decorated lobby and introducing them to our delicious food and beverage offerings. Consider the WAC the place to host such a gathering—large or small, formal or informal. Finally, a reminder that the Elevator Modernization Project will begin in early 2017, a new start date for a project that will streamline travel inside the Club. As work nears and takes place, you'll find me using the stairs more often. See you there! Happy holidays, A gathering place Jubilee 87! Remember that on Friday, December 2, only Jubilee attendees and registered Inn guests will be allowed Club access after 5 pm. Please join the party! For much more on Jubilee, see pages 28–31.
