This quarterly mixer is fast- paced and focused on linking you to a roomful of WAC members. Here's how it works: PreLink starts at 6 pm and gives everyone a chance to arrive, grab a beverage, and enjoy appetizers. At 6:30 we kick off SpeedLink, where you'll meet 15 different people in three-minute link-ups. After SpeedLink, there is a group activity with prizes. Join us in the Presidents Suite on the 12th Floor for an evening of engaging and conversing with other WAC members. Light appetizers will be provided for this evening of socializing and networking. No-host drinks available. To receive WAC Link updates and reminders, send an email to us at clubprograms@wac.net and write "Link List" in the subject line. 6–8 pm; complimentary Discover Guatemala, Heart of the Mayan World: Antigua (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Lake Atitlan, & Guatemala City January 14–22, 2017 WAC member and business professor Aaron Thornburg has traveled to and from Guatemala for 17 years. Since 2014, he has led multiple student and alumni trips all over the Mayan world. In January 2017, Aaron will transform his passion for the Guatemalan culture, food, ruins, topography, and people into a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our WAC community! His seasoned team of academic and adventure travel professionals have created an unforgettable, WAC-tailored, nine-day journey through the modern, colonial, and living Mayan culture. It is natural exploration at its best! From the moment we arrive, every aspect of this journey will be chaperoned by Aaron and his team of Guatemalan gurus. Enjoy private transportation, luxurious lodging, and spectacular views, and make forever memories on this extraordinary adventure. We'll also leave ripples of positive social impact in our wake as proceeds go to Magic Carpet Rides, an Orcas Island nonprofit that specializes in community service in Guatemala. We'll have the opportunity to connect with and witness how our support improves the lives of the people of San Juan La Laguna. Travel activities include: coffee and rum tastings, fine dining, exploring ancient Mayan ruins, strolling Central America's largest market, visiting rural artisanal villages, connecting with local business owners, optional volcano hikes and cliff jumping, and much more. Contact Melissa Borders at mborders@wac.net to receive more information about this extraordinary WAC travel experience. $2,295 per person double occupancy includes all lodging, private land and aquatic transportation (including pick-up from airport to hotel and return), excursions, and most meals. Price does not include airfare. There is an additional $900 charge for a single room supplement. Trauma & Acute Care at Harborview Friday, March 25 During our tour of the Harborview Medical Center, we received a surprise fly-in by Airlift Northwest, the region's premier medical transport service. We met and talked with the pilot and nurses and got to look inside the helicopter.
