the Bullitt Center, and it's located on Capitol Hill. This Living Building is in complete balance with nature, does not con- tribute any waste to the environment, and was built to last 250 years. Join us for a one-hour tour led by volunteer docents from the Center for Integrated Design, a collaboration of the University of Washington Integrated Design Lab and the Bullitt Foundation. The tour includes the building's mechanical and electrical rooms, the graywater and rainwater treatment systems, and its "irresistible" stairwell. You'll discover how the structure operates 80 percent more efficiently than average high-rise office buildings. Following the tour, join us at nearby Skillet Diner (optional). Select your choice of two edibles and one drinkable (happy hour cocktail, beer or wine) as we discuss what we've seen and learned. 3–4 pm tour, 4–5 pm social; $32 tour and social, $15 tour only; cancel by February 5 N E W Tacoma Museums & More Thursday, April 16 Discover some of the City of Destiny's best museums and glass art. Join us on Sound Transit's express bus to Tacoma's Museum District, where our visit begins at the Tacoma Art Museum. TAM recently doubled in size and the expansion now includes the light-filled Haub Family Galleries, showcasing art of the American West. Works by Dale Chihuly are another museum highlight. Our second stop is the nearby Hotel Murano and its museum- worthy collection of glass art from around the globe. We'll also enjoy lunch at Bite, Murano's restaurant, before a docent leads us through the hotel, where each floor is dedi- cated to the works of a different glass artist. Next, we'll stroll through the Bridge of Glass before entering the Museum of Glass. After a tour, we'll watch the hot shop team partner with visiting artist Armelle Bouchet O'Neill. Then spend some extra time in the hot shop or visit the Job Carr Cabin Museum in Old Town Tacoma, a re-creation of the city founder's pioneer home. Other options include the nearby Tacoma campus of the University of Washington. Includes museum admissions and lunch. Bus fare each way ($3.50 for adults, $1.50 for seniors) not included. 9:15 am–4:45 pm; $48; cancel by April 9 N E W WAC Family Fun Night Friday, January 30 You asked for it—and here it is!
