Curling—think of it as a combination of darts and shuffleboard— requires two teams of four players. You'll slide heavy granite stones down a rectangular sheet of carefully prepared ice toward a circular target. Referred to by some as "chess on ice," the complex nature of curling makes this sport more than entertaining. This lively evening of curling, cocktails and cheer will be held at the Granite Curling Club in North Seattle. Instructors will be on hand to give WAC members a lesson in the art of sliding, sweeping, and staying upright! Event includes instruction, brooms, rocks, appetizers, and two drink tickets. Cash bar will also be available. This event is for members and guests ages 21 and over. 7–11 pm; $50; transportation not included; cancel by February 10 N E W Puzzle Break: Live Action Escape-the-Room Game Saturday, March 7 As seen on Evening Magazine. Come together for this exuberant evening of celebration with a touch of the era when the WAC began. The night will feature classic memory photos, a delectable dinner with a delicious dessert, and an iconic after-dinner performance that will leave you buzzing before you hit the dance floor. Adults and daughters over 12 will dine on a scrumptious roasted beet and goat cheese stack to start, followed by rosemary roasted chicken with fingerling potatoes, wild mushrooms, and seasonal vegetables. Daughters under 12 will savor a fruit and cheese plate to begin and finish off with a main course of turkey Swedish meatballs with bow tie pasta and broccoli.
