A much smaller percentage of people—less than half—actually stick to those resolutions after only a few weeks. The primary reason for this recurring lapse is lack of a solid plan or poor goal-setting. Let this be the year that any resolutions made in January are still being followed in June. A great way to accomplish this is to utilize the impressive services contained within the WAC Clubhouse. The Wellness Center offers more than 20 individualized programs to improve fitness and overall health. One way to get started is to take the Segmental Body Fat Analysis, which measures lean body mass compared to body fat and water com- position. This provides an excellent benchmark from which to measure progress. WAC Nutritionist Shana Hopkins also provides customized one-on-one nutritional counseling designed around sustainable and permanent weight loss. Shana's services include Shopping for Good Health, during which she will accompany members to the grocery store and educate them on making healthy choices and reading food labels. If exercise is more your thing, it's noteworthy that WAC Athletics offers more than 100 group training classes on any given week. If you're more into the social scene, Club Programs has 20 outstanding offerings this month. January is also the month we hold our marquee athletic event, aptly named The Main Event. The WAC will also host the 35th annual Morris Trophy Award on Thursday, January 15, in the Crystal Ballroom. Established in 1980, the Morris Trophy recognizes the top offensive lineman and top defensive lineman in the Pac-12 Conference. The unique distinction of this award is that the recipients are chosen by opposing players—the ultimate compliment in any sport. This marks the 10th consecutive year the WAC is hosting this prestigious awards ceremony. Take my word, it's well worth attending. For details, see page 6. January is a great month to align your personal health and fitness goals with WAC offerings. I wish everyone a healthy and prosperous 2015! So many ways to start anew in 2015
