Oktoberfest at Rhein Haus

You didn't have to go all the way
to Leavenworth to celebrate the fall
harvest. We did it locally at Rhein
Haus (formerly Von Trapp's), home
to a cavernous German restaurant,
beer hall, and bocce courts.
Endless platters of Bavarian fare
satisfied all appetites, while glasses
of European beer washed it down.
To complement the Oktoberfest
theme, some arrived in their own
authentic attire while others donned
our Tyrolean hats. Bocce kept every-
one active before plates, glasses
and spirits were replenished.
