Teamworks MANAGER OF THE QUARTER › FALL 2013 DID YOU KNOW? ✪ Terry has a 3-year-old son, Jason. ✪ She loves to read personal style blogs and is interested in fashion. ✪ She wants to go back to school and study to be a chemical dependency counselor. DID YOU KNOW? ✪ Outside of work, Richard enjoys hiking and playing basketball. ✪ He has seven tattoos. One is of a chef's knife, which represents his passion for cooking. ✪ Richard was born in Manila, Philippines, and his first language is Tagalog. DID YOU KNOW? ✪ Roy and his son, Royce, volunteer throughout the year, especially during the holidays. ✪ Although he's afraid of heights, he's cliff-jumped into a river in Billings, Montana. ✪ He loves coaching his son's football and basketball teams. MIKE McGURN After engaging in a career as a prosecutor, military lawyer, and civil litigator, Mike McGurn now loves devoting his talent and energy to establishing corporate relationships and recruiting new members to the WAC. As Senior Business Development Manager, Mike oversees membership sales activities and spearheads the recruitment of new corporate partners. "I love my job because I am able to educate potential members about the amazing attributes of the Club and help them transform their lives," Mike says. He works hard to show prospective members the incalculable advantages of WAC membership. "Mike has a very strong work ethic, which he applies diligently every month no matter how challenging the task," Vice President Membership & Marketing Michelle Pinson says. His tours of the Clubhouse give prospective members an insider's view of our facility and offerings, and his knowledge about what's happening from the lobby to the Top of the WAC is remarkable. "Mike encompasses all of the characteristics of a true leader," Business Development Manager Max Reich says. "He has sound judgment, communicates clearly and effectively, and follows through on his commitments. Above all, he inspires his team." DID YOU KNOW? ✪ Mike loves endurance sports. He's climbed Mount Rainier, run five marathons, and ridden in the Group Health Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic. ✪ He is from Rochester, New York, and moved to Seattle to serve as a U.S. Navy JAG Corps trial attorney. As such, he tried cases on ship and shore. ✪ Mike has traveled extensively on five continents. His most memorable trip was a wildlife safari in Africa, where he photographed the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, cape buffalo, and rhinoceros.
