Pizza Making at Serious Pie NEW Saturday, January 25, 2014 Christmastime at Thornewood Castle Sunday, December 8 By special arrangement, the WAC is able to offer our favorite holiday combo: Thornewood Castle and the Fantasy Lights at Spanaway Park. Thornewood is a 500-year-old, 30,000-square-foot, 54-room private residence in Lakewood. It gained recognition from the Steven King miniseries Rose Red. Many of the materials of this Tudor Gothic manor were imported from a 16th century castle in Europe, and it's one of the few private castles in the U.S. Owner and hostess Deanna Robinson will warmly welcome us to Thornewood, which she'll have decked out in holiday finery inside and out. We'll enjoy a festive sit-down luncheon featuring delicious beef Wellington amid antiques and teapots in the parlor. Relax and share the joy as special entertainment puts you in the holiday mood. You'll also have the opportunity to explore the guest rooms that make up the manor's bed and breakfast. At dusk, we'll re-board the motor coach and head for the dazzling Fantasy Lights at Spanaway Park. Fantasy Lights is a spectacular holiday drive-through featuring elaborate lighted and animated displays. After this ride through a winter wonderland, snuggle up and settle in as we return to the WAC. Transportation, luncheon and "extras" included. 12 pm–6:45 pm; $88; cancel by December 2 Children's Holiday Show II: Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol Seattle Children's Better Babysitters Taproot Theatre brings the beloved Dickens' Christmas tale to the WAC for one performance only.
