WAC ARTIFACT
Batter up!
An ice-cold beer, warm sunshine, and
the solid crack of a baseball bat mark a
good summer day. America's love for the
diamond runs deep, as does the WAC's
support for amateur athletics. Univer-
sity of Washington baseball player and
early member of the WAC Board of
Governors Roscoe "Torchy" Torrance
brought his love for the sport to the Club
in our earliest days and immediately got
to work supporting young athletes, a
tradition the WAC continues to this day.
Although we can't say if Torchy himself
wore this early WAC baseball uniform,
we're sure the pinstripes and vintage
logo looked great on him. Spy these
historic items and other sports memora-
bilia in Hagerty's.
Support the preservation of WAC history and our historic Clubhouse, listed on the National Register of Historic
Places, with a donation to the WAC Foundation. Learn more and donate at wac.net/foundation.
