Second annual WAC Picnic at Gas Works Park AUGUST 10 Pack your picnic fare, grab a blanket, and head to iconic Gas Works Park for a fun-filled afternoon with fellow WAC members. Nestled on the north shore of Lake Union, this historic park offers stunning views of the Seattle skyline, plenty of green space for games, and unique industrial charm. This event is perfect for WAC members and friends of all ages—adults, kids, and everyone in between! Whether you're looking to relax in the sunshine, enjoy a friendly game of frisbee, or simply connect with fellow members, there's something for everyone. Lake Union Scavenger Hunt AUGUST 14 Explore Lake Union and search for clues, solve riddles, and lead your team to victory, all from within the comfort of an electric Duffy boat. The "Clueless in Seattle" on-the-water scavenger hunt is tons of fun and will bring out the competitive spirit in everyone. Bring your own beverages and boat snacks. Cancel by August 13 to avoid charges. Join FareStart for a Gleaning Day at Oxbow Farm! AUGUST 22 Help fight food insecurity by harvesting fresh produce for communities in need. Join FareStart's Food Security Team at Oxbow Farm to glean fruits and vegetables that will be used in community meals and mobile markets. Volunteers will harvest, wash, and bundle farm-fresh produce alongside FareStart staff and local farm partners. Friday; 8:45 am–1 pm; complimentary. Cancel by August 17.
