SPRING / SUMMER 2025 21 living fit wellness at the wac John combines the guidance he receives with a reg- ular fitness routine, including group classes with instructors George Sommerrock and Linda Schetky. For John, the variety of classes and services offered at the Club helps him balance personal wellness with life's demands. "I can always fit something into my schedule," he says. Member Marilyn Sherron, another 4th Floor regular, recently took advantage of IRG Physical erapy's offerings via the WAC Wellness Center. Marilyn received pre-operative therapy before getting her knee replaced. "It was so convenient, and it helped me be stronger aer the surgery," she says. Former college basketball player Emma Haywood, meanwhile, uses the Wellness Center's offerings to soothe injuries sustained on the court. A com- bination session between the infrared sauna and cryotherapy chamber is especially beneficial for joint inflam- mation, she says. "It's important to me to stay strong," Emma says. "e WAC's wellness and fitness offerings help me stay ahead of any arthritis or more injuries." Taking care of herself also allows Emma to enjoy other parts of the WAC, like theater tickets and continu- ing to play basketball. "It's such a place of comfort and security," she says. "Whenever I plan a day downtown, I plan it around the WAC." LEARN MORE The WAC Wellness Center offers an extensive menu of services. Browse wac.net/wellness-services.
