Moved from its traditional location at Seward Park as part of an effort to ex- pand the festival's reach, this race for ath- letes of all ages and skill levels takes place on Sunday, July 25. Participants will run, bike and swim through picturesque Lake Sammamish State Park, which boasts more than 500 acres of forest, wetlands and waterfront. ere are a number of course formats that cater to everyone from elite athletes to casual racers and even an event for the kids! Relay and duathlon options are also offered. Break out your bike, snap on your swim cap, and lace your sneakers in anticipation of this summer tradition with a new twist. e WAC is the official athletic club of the Seafair Triathlon, and WAC members receive 20 percent off their race registration when they use the code "TRIWAC21". In anticipation of the race, take a course-scouting trip and explore the wa- ter and trails of Lake Sammamish State Park. Well known for birdwatching, fish- ing and geocaching, Lake Sammamish is an easy-to-get-to outdoor experience for the whole family. Held in the late-evening light of Seat- tle summer, this 5K features plenty of city sights as participants walk and run through downtown Seattle. e Seafair Triathlon and Torchlight Run both include virtual options, as well.
