He was surrounded at home by family. Jack was known for his integrity, humor, and a passion for old-time fiddling. He is survived by two proud and grateful sons. Jack's professional career began in broadcasting and transitioned to commercial real estate management. Jack joined the WAC in 1977 and served as Chairman in 1984. He was also a member of Seattle Rotary and e 101 Club and was a former Seafair King. "Jack Link was a leader in so many ways," WAC President & CEO Chuck Nelson says. "His positivity and legendary quips inspired and entertained us for decades." Born in Missouri, Jack grew up in Idaho and served in the Army Air Corps. He attended Washington State University and later studied broadcast- ing at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Jack married Ella Mays in 1950. ey moved to Seattle in 1957 when Jack became program director of KING radio and returned in 1962. Jack and Ella remained married for 65 years until her death in 2015. anks for the memories, Jack! "With in-person community service being so limited, at a time where it's never been more needed, we are encouraged and motivated by the creative ideas we're bringing to members to stay involved." FareStart is a Seattle-based nonprofit that transforms lives through culinary skills and job training for underserved populations and those battling poverty. is is not the first time the WAC has helped FareStart. WAC members have volunteered as servers at a FareStart Guest Chef Night, and WAC Executive Chef Eric Floyd has volunteered his talents to the organization, as well.
