JANUARY / FEBRUARY / MARCH 2021 11 Building our future Join the members supporting the WAC Foundation with a monthly gift first take wac foundation Happy 2021! If last year taught us anything, it's the importance of planning for the future and never taking anything for granted. As we enter our 91st year, there's no better time to plan for our centennial and beyond. We're starting this effort by introducing a new way for WAC members to support the WAC Foundation, the nonprofit established to preserve and enhance our historic Clubhouse. In honor of our 90-year history, WAC members who donate $90 a month for 12 months to the WAC Foundation will achieve "Builder" recognition and will be honored in Foundation materials. As we emerge from the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has never been a more important time to support the Foundation, which funds capital A L I N A T Y U L Y U , E M I L I O H U E R T A S , J O H N G R A N E N improvement projects designed to preserve and enhance the WAC Clubhouse, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Foundation leaders are working closely with WAC membership to de- velop a list of priority projects. Projects currently under consideration include: • Daylighting historic windows in the lobby-level Club Shop and expand- ing the iconic Voogd Library concept into the lobby coffee shop. • Creating a wider opening between the WAC Café and the adjacent card room and expanding drop-in work space there. • Refurbishing, cleaning and uplighting the Clubhouse's historic brick exterior. As stewards of this building, WAC members can directly contribute to its future through tax-deductible giving. e Foundation, a 501(c)(3), accepts gis of all types and sizes, including cash, one-time and recurring gis, estate planning, and appreciated stock. e Foundation also qualifies for most employers' gi-matching programs.
