First phase of Project 51 capital improvement project wraps up, moving the WAC Barbershop to the 5th Floor and creating a new Men's Strength Studio. Jubilee 89 marks the beginning of the WAC's 89th year. With 840 revelers, Jubilee 89 is the biggest since 2009. The WAC hosts the annual Morris Trophy awards luncheon, honoring the best defensive and offensive linemen in the Pac-12. The University of Washington sweeps the awards. The WAC's wine pro- gram wins its second consecutive Club Management Associa- tion of America Award of Distinction for its extensive wine list. The WAC hosts collegiate boxers from around the nation for two sold-out nights of boxing at The Main Event. The WAC Garage celebrates its 30th anniversary in its current location. President & CEO Chuck Nelson is named 2019 Chair of the Seattle Sports Commission. Lyft announces that the WAC was its most popular fitness studio destination in Seattle in 2018. The WAC Garage installs five Tesla charging stations. Members and their guests honor legendary founding families of the Washington wine industry at the 13th annual Winemaker Dinner at the WAC. Snowmageddon! Seattle expe- riences its biggest February snowstorm in decades. The WAC remains open! Dads and daughters attend the 71st annual Father Daughter event despite the drifts. Members of the Seattle Supersonics 1979 championship team visit the WAC. The WAC men's lacrosse team starts its inaugural season and goes on to win the Pacific Northwest Lacrosse League championship three months later. Ashtanga yoga master David Swenson hosts a three-day workshop at the WAC. The WAC AA (35-and-over) men's basketball team wins its fifth Pacific Coast Athletic Clubs tournament title. Friends & Family welcomes 331 new WAC members! JANUARY MARCH FEBRUARY Demolition of Alaskan Way Viaduct begins, eventually creating open-air access to the waterfront from the WAC Clubhouse.
