The annual Special Olympics Washington Powerlifting Invitational returns to the Clubhouse. The WAC Cocktail Club enjoys its first event—a whisky dinner featur- ing Japanese distiller Suntory. MAY The WAC's Open and AA men's basketball teams win national championships at the annual NACAD tourna- ment, held in Detroit. Health & Fitness Manager Maureen Eggers wins an International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association scholarship to attend the 2019 IHRSA Institute leader- ship conference in North Carolina. Tri/Cycle Club members race in the 2019 Seafair Triathlon. The WAC hosts over 30 private club managers from around the nation for the annual City Athletic Club Managers Conference. JUNE JULY The Seattle Seawolves— all WAC members—win their second consecutive Major League Rugby championship. WAC Member Damon Huffman and his 3x3 basketball team win a World Cup gold medal, bringing the team one step closer to competing in the 2020 Summer Olympics. Emily Henrich of Dartmouth and Harley Wheeler of Life University accept the Sorensen & Scholz Collegiate Rugby Player of the Year awards at the WAC.
