24 WAC Magazine | wac.net living fit meet the wac team Tamra Sherwood Aquatics & Junior Programs Manager A Salt Lake City native, Tamra Sherwood began swimming competitive- ly at age 10. Just $ve years later, she started coaching, lifeguarding, and teaching learn-to-swim-classes. "I love everything about swimming," Tamra says. "It has taught me so many valuable life lessons—con$dence, goal-setting, discipline, enduring through failure, how to celebrate victo- ries, and of course, how to wake up at 4 am." A#er attending "e University of Utah, Tamra was working as a back- packing guide in Idaho when she met her future husband, Bryan. "ey moved to the Seattle area in 2008. "ey now live in West Seattle with two sons, 4-year-old Grey and 1-year-old Berlin. A certi$ed USA Swimming Coach and U.S. Masters Swimming Coach, Tamra says she enjoys teaching everyone from triathletes to be- ginning swimmers. Hannah Dentry Dietitian New to Seattle and new to the WAC, Hannah Dentry hails from Bal- timore, where she had been living and working for the past six years. Hannah made her $rst foray into the world of nutrition as an employee of the Four Seasons Baltimore, where she founded the employee wellness committee. "I've always been fascinated by how we use food to express love, to celebrate, and to nourish ourselves," she says. A#er starting the aforementioned committee, Hannah's curiosity and passion for nutrition deepened, inspiring her to return to school at the University of Maryland to complete a degree in dietetics. Upon graduat- ing, she completed a rigorous 1,200-hour internship with an emphasis on health promotion and corporate wellness. Hannah is also a certi$ed yoga teacher and uses her training to devel- op mindful and intuitive eating practices with clients. "I love helping cli- ents overcome challenges and barriers by cra#ing individualized healthy eating patterns that are built to last," she says.
