"We're looking forward to the new look," says Wayne Milner, Senior Vice President Athletics, Special Projects & Community Partners. !e project, so named because it includes improvements on "oors 5 and 1—hence "51"—will also add a new strength-training and Olympic-li#ing space to Men's Fitness, ful$lling a grow- ing area of interest. In addition, the move will relocate some of the noisier activities on the 5th Floor away from their previous location directly above the 4th Floor $tness stu- dios. "!at should help keep the ceiling from rumbling while thirty people are in corpse pose," Wayne smiles, knowing that members are going to appreciate the change. !e initial phase of Project 51 will also create a new space for the WAC Barbershop on the 5th Floor. "!at's going to be great for the Barbershop's visibility," Wayne says, noting that men and women will still be able to use the barbershop. !e second phase of Project 51 will focus on the 1st Floor of the Club. !e plan calls for moving Club Shop retail sales to the space vacated by the bar- bershop and building a small-business center with adjacent co%ee shop in the current Club Shop location.
