Purchase pi- rate swag in the ship's store, learn to speak like a pirate, fire the ship's water cannons, enjoy a limbo contest and best-dressed pirate contest, and get down pirate-style to Top 40 music and golden oldies. We will head to her shop in Queen Anne and learn about the history and culture of costume jewelry while get- ting to explore her space. She will use examples from her inventory and then do evalua- tions for attendees on two to three items. Find out if your great-grandmother's earrings are worth something! u Wednesday; 6–8 pm; $30; cancel by August 15 22 U.S. Coast Guard Tour N Safety on our wa- terways—that's the primary mission of the U.S. Coast Guard. Base Seattle, located at Sodo's Pier 36, oversees the safety and navigation of over 3,000 square miles of bays, straits, open ocean, and more. In addition to its search and rescue efforts, the Coast Guard conducts research; escorts ferries, Navy vessels, and cruise ships; and boards an average of 600 boats per year. We'll meet at Pier 36 to learn about the Maritime Safety and Security Team, K9 explosive detection team, the armory, and Base Seattle's small boats.
