Although the temperatures may be getting lower—and the rainfall inches higher—we have the holiday season and all the warm feelings that come with it to anticipate and celebrate. The Washington Athletic Club has and will continue to play a large role in the celebrations and tradi- tions our membership has come to enjoy this time of year. We look forward to enter- taining thousands of members and guests for Thanksgiving, Jubilee, Christmas and the many other seasonal gatherings of family, friends and colleagues. It's an honor for us to play host during these special times, and we thank you for it. Certainly, one of the highlight events of every year is the annual spectacular that is Jubilee. This year we celebrate Jubilee 83, a rhyming reminder of the founding of our Club in December 1930 and a chance to appropriately celebrate and congratulate our- selves. Our anniversary celebration also offers an opportunity for looking forward and for energetic year-end frivolity. Jubilee is a very guest-centric event, so please invite your friends to celebrate with you at your Club. It's a great chance to show off the facility and, even more important, the spirit of community and fun that make the WAC one of America's best clubs. More than just our world-class athletic facilities, awe-inspiring Inn, and award-win- ning dining, we can highlight the fun factor that brings us all together. This edition of WAC Magazine is an oversized double issue, covering November and December. You will also receive a "mini-mag" in December. That publication will serve as the perfect reminder of year-end events and opportunities, including holiday gift ideas at the Spa, Club Shop and Inn. Our Club has wonderful momentum. The membership is embracing usage and bringing in friends and colleagues at a very strong pace. It means more events, more people and more fun for all of us. Please think of the WAC first as you look for places to hold your private and business holiday functions. In addition to our holiday activities, we can look forward to January and a jump- start to 2013. Our lobby remodel project will begin, the annual Main Event will be better than ever, and the fitness facilities will be ready for many of us to finally … finally … follow through on our New Year's resolutions.
