The 8th Floor will be hopping with activities and excitement to keep the whole family entertained. Whether you want to join for dinner and activities or just activi- ties, we have all the family fun you need in one spot, including bounce houses, video games, a pizza party, and a few special surprises. Non-member guests invited. u Friday; 5:30–8 pm; dinner and activities ($17 kids 6–12, $23 adults), activities only ($12 per family), kids five and under complimentary 06 Hot Party 11 Night 2: SOLD OUT Be a glass artist for a night at our 11th annual "hot party" at Seattle Glassblowing Studio. With assistance from the professional glassblowing team, you'll heat a molten blob of glass, dip it in your choice of crushed colored glass, fire it in the 2,000-degree kiln, then blow or work it into the perfect size and shape. Make two items—such as pumpkins, fruit, bowls, ornaments, or paperweights. After cooling a few days, your objets d'art will be available for pickup at the WAC. Event includes dinner buffet and beverages. The relaxed setup allows you to eat while watching others blow their unique glass treasures. Class size limited to 12. Join the fun as the Crystal Room turns into the WAC's very own "Man Cave." Think video games, table games, TV, comfy sofas, and home-cooking food stations. Kick back, relax, and spend an evening bonding with the guys in your life. Perfect for dads and sons of all ages. We are able to handle any dietary restrictions or needs. u Friday; 6 pm; $48 each (dads and sons 12-plus), $38 each (sons under 12); cancel by October 6 15 Trapped in a Room with a Zombie Go on a Room Es- cape Adventure! You and your team are locked in a room with a funny but ravenous zombie chained to the wall. Hidden in the room is a key that will unlock the door to your freedom. Every five minutes the hungry zombie's chain gets longer and longer and within an hour the zom- bie will be able to reach you. You and your fellow zombie bait will have 60 minutes to discover numerous clues and solve puzzles to locate the key and escape the room without getting eaten. It's perfect pre-Halloween fun and a thrilling night out with friends and fellow WAC mem- bers. Meet in Fremont. u Sunday; 5–6 pm; $28; cancel by October 5 19 Seattle Walks with Author David Williams Seattle is growing around us, but it remains one of the most walkable cities in the nation. David Williams—ge- ologist and author of Seattle Walks: Discovering History and Nature in the City—will teach you about 17 walks that vary in length and topography. Come hear how each walk explores history, architecture, plants, geology, and curious features such as two underground bun- kers. Williams' program will show you how the past has affected the present and how we still have nature in our concrete jungle. His book on walks appeals to newcomers and longtime residents alike. Join us at Next Step Archery to discov- er the fundamentals of the sport, including form, range rules, and etiquette. Once you have the basics down, it's time for archery tag—a game of dodgeball with bows and foam-tipped arrows. We'll have plenty of time to learn, have fun, and compete in a new sport. We can all draw what we see, but un- derstanding how to use your eyes and hand in conjunction can help you improve your skills. Lael Williams is an art educator who is coming to the WAC to help you embrace your inner artist. You'll begin by remembering yourself as an artist at a young age and finish the class with two to three drawings.
