Help us welcome Johnson to the WAC from 5:30–6:30 pm on ursday, March 23, at an artist's reception. Enjoy wine and a gallery tour by the artist himself. Johnson's work focuses on natural landscapes, hunting and gathering, and the economic forces of global industries. 2016 Team Member of the Year Rebekah Yeazel Congratulations to Rebekah Yeazel, IT Support Associate and our newest Team Member of the Year! e announcement was made at the Team Member Awards Banquet, held in the Crystal Ballroom in February. Rebekah's co-workers praise her for being positive, courte- ous, and a pleasure to work with. At the WAC, Rebekah trou- bleshoots computer issues, improves systems throughout the building, and keeps the Club's technology running smoothly. "Rebekah's customer service is unparalleled," IT Director Austin Kwak says. She started at the WAC in 2015 and says she enjoys the positive and supportive team she works with throughout the Clubhouse. "e WAC is a wonderful place to work because of the people," Rebekah says. "One does not have to be around long to find that this is incredibly true and not just a cliché saying. is team of people has given me the chance and support to grow as an IT professional. I am truly grateful for each one of them." Happy 100! WAC member Marie Riel will cele- brate her 100th birthday on March 13. Marie was born and raised in Seattle and attended West Seattle High School and the University of Washington. She credits "good genes and good living" for her longevity. Marie enjoyed waterskiing and snow skiing until her 70s and con- tinues to enjoy boating and gardening. Born Marie Martin, she married Robert Riel in 1950. Robert joined the WAC in 1946, and the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Club. ey had two children, Maryann and Susan, whom they raised in West Seattle. eir only grandchild, Nicole, is the daughter of Susan and husband John Anderson. Maryann and Susan took swim lessons at the WAC and the family formed many fond memories at the Club. Marie and Robert used to enjoy dancing on the lobby level, and Marie's parents also celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the WAC. Marie spent 10 years working as a human relations associate at Chief Sealth High School and was active with her daughters in the Girls Scouts and PTA. Robert spent 30 years working at Boeing, and the couple retired to Hood Canal in 1981. Happy birthday, Marie.
