MARCH / APRIL 2017 7 A place to feel at home It's all about the experiences. It's about creating places and events and people and community that make us feel good. It's about memories and growth and contributing and learning. It's about improving and being challenged and answering the bell, about being better today than we were yesterday and looking forward to getting even better tomorrow. It's about our quality of life, about helping others have a better quality of life, about peace and calm and escape. It's about feeling at home. at's what we all want the WAC to be. e Club aims to provide a variety of spaces and facilities for members' diverse needs. e Club's programs and offerings exist to meet the desires of our broad and inclusive membership, with encouragement to all to try something new and expand your experiences. Your fellow members themselves can be such a growth opportunity, an open basket of new people and different ideas. e WAC is a place to get to know people better. For 87 years this Club has represented good things and civility and courtesy and honor—a place you know you can go and feel good. It's important, then, that in an environment of different views and ideas, we continue to be respectful of each other—thoughtful and mindful and sensitive toward our fellow members and team members. It is a reasonable and fundamental expectation of all of us to be mutually respectful of everybody in the building, perhaps today more than any other time in recent memory. Let's keep the WAC a great place to be! @cnhuskies13 Chuck Nelson President & CEO cnelson@wac.net WAC® MAGAZINE March / April 2017 Volume 36, Number 2 ISSN 1091-7985 Washington Athletic Club ® 1325 Sixth Ave. Seattle, WA 98101 206.622.7900 / fax 206.464.3058 www.wac.net / magazine@wac.net 206.464.4631 / fax 206.464.1392 Subscription: $18 / Single copies: $3 Published bimonthly, plus holiday issue.
