WINTER / SPRING 2025 39 some way. Starting with an idea and then seeing a final result. Going from, "Hey, let's figure this out," to, "Look what we did together!" You turn 65 in late February. What's next? Obviously, retirement is a very difficult decision full of pros and cons. My time at the WAC has been full of wonderful people, good times, and challenges. We've had big victories, and there's been great job satisfaction. Now, I want to do my best to make sure I have more than a handful of healthy years to see what else life has to offer. e due date of our first grandchild is coincidentally and wonderfully around the same time as my retirement. So that is the easy answer to, "What's next?" e first priority will be to find out what our role is supporting our daughter and her husband and loving the new little one. Beyond that, more time with Nanette, family, and friends. A more relaxed pace of life. More golf, some travel, both epic and simple. We will likely do some international travel but are also looking forward to a few days in Cannon Beach, Walla Walla, sunny places in the winter, road trips down the coast. More time to focus on fitness and health. I am excited to prioritize family and friends and be more present. You and Nanette celebrated 25 years of marriage the year you were hired. Now you're coming up on 38 years. How important has family been in your life? I have had many blessings in my life, nothing more so than sharing this won- derful life with Nanette. She is a great partner in all ways, wife and mother, and certainly with our work at the WAC. She cares about what we do here and loves our wonderful team members. ey have embraced her as much as they have supported me. Our adult children are great people, and have both moved back to Seattle, which is every parent's dream. I want my epitaph to be: "Great father, great husband, pretty good at a lot of other things." March 2020 WAC Clubhouse closes due to COVID-19 pandemic. Creation of virtual events and fitness classes. Team Member Relief Fund raises money to support WAC staff impacted by pandemic.
